Cue Party Hats and hip hip hoorays

Happy 10th Birthday, Fostering Hope. What started as a single foster child through a Sunday school class has evolved into a statewide movement to support displaced children. With your support, the mission of Fostering Hope continues to expand, one child at a time. Thank you for celebrating this milestone with your prayers and your contributions. Wishes do come true.

Thank You, Nanette’s Table

Thank you to one of our favorite caterers, Nanette’s Table. Nanette held a Bake Sale featuring her famous Ooey Gooey Cookies and donated the proceeds to celebrate Fostering Hope’s 10th Birthday. Thank you, Nanette.

An eggcellent teen board

The Fostering Hope Teen Board wrapped up another successful year with its April meeting and The Hope House was occupied by a young guest.

We are at capacity and never want to turn a child away. Our ever-flexible teens relocated to Hoos Pediatric for dinner and an egg toss contest. (Thank you, Tracy and Kristi Hoos) Speaker Ana Moazami from Elevate All was welcomed and shared insights into setting and reaching goals.

Goodbye to our Graduating seniors: Carter Crosby , Wagner Czaruk, Dubin Kensley, Gordon Zarrya, Aubi Hawke, Blake Leeds, Olivia Locke, Jenna Morphis, Grace Nail, Carlee Scott, Emerson Toney, Kaylee Wood, and Rayleigh Yocham.

Breathe In Breathe Out

Pittsburg County DHS invited FH to meet their staff and to introduce our services. We invited Haley Poffel from Green Country Behavioral Health to speak about mental health and self-care. She stressed the importance of taking care of yourself and shared practical tools to help. Haley concluded with grounding exercises to relieve anxiety and stress. FH hosted the Pittsburgh County outreach with Chick-fil-A breakfasts and lots of information.

Supporting and acknowledging front-line workers is a priority at Fostering Hope. Always know you’re appreciated, DHS Children's Services. And we are here to help make your job easier.

" I Feel Pretty"

A foster teen recently attended prom with the help of a few “fairy godmothers” from Fostering Hope's mom squad. From a red dress to shoes and jewelry, every detail came together for an unforgettable night.

Our prom queen shared that she had been a guest at the Hope House two years before and remembered how safe she felt and how much food was available. It was a full-circle moment to see her again and affirm how beautiful she was.

Candles and Cake and Gifts….Oh My!

What a month! In March, the To-Go Birthdays set a record. 36 Birthdays were celebrated throughout the state with wrapped presents, party decorations, iced cakes, and new clothes and shoes. From make-up kits, headphones, anything princess to dumplings, we work hard to include requested birthday gifts. Isn’t it fabulous that all these kiddos were recognized and acknowledged on their special day!

Community Corner

This spring, U.S. Senator James Lankford toured Fostering Hope and The Hope House. We appreciate Senator Lankford’s interest in our programs and, more importantly, in helping foster children. Thank you for taking the time to come by and introduce yourself.

Thank you Melissa Litke, (Campus Director for OK. Baptist Homes) and Dr. James Swain (OBHC President) for stopping by FH. We are grateful to organizations like OBHS for providing incredible programs and support for children in foster care. Partnerships like these strengthen the network of care surrounding foster children and families and help ensure that support continues to grow statewide.
